Christmas in Boston turns the city into a festive wonderland of lights, spectacular decorations, special holiday music, and plenty of good cheer. Visit the Boston Opera House and see Tchaikovsky’s romantic score, the “Nutcracker” ballet!  Take a fantastic journey with Clara and her Nutcracker-turned-Prince who battles an army of mice and guides them through the Enchanted Forest of dancing snowflakes to arrive at the fabled Kingdom of the Sweets. Join conductor Keith Lockhart and the world-famous Boston Pops at the historic Symphony Hall. Be mesmerized by a performance filled with holiday music favorites, the traditional Pops sing-along, and a visit from Santa Claus himself! The glitter of gold and the sparkle of silver will dazzle you as you tour three magnificent mansions decked out in Yuletide finery. Music, tours, and spectacular decorations highlight the celebration of Christmas at the Newport Mansions. Enjoy holiday memories by visiting The Breakers, The Marble House, and The Elms this holiday season. Thousands of poinsettia plants, spectacular evergreens, trees, wreaths, fresh flowers, and 19th-century style ornaments turn the houses and their grounds into a Christmas wonderland. Dining tables set with period silver and china and mannequins dressed in authentic costumes complete the elegant setting. December 4 – Welcome to Boston | The Nutcracker

Today, you’ll arrive in Boston and receive a warm greeting from your professional Tour Director. Board your luxury motor coach and transfer to your Boston hotel for a festive two-night stay! Take some time to relax and freshen up, before enjoying an early welcome dinner. Next, you are off to the Boston Opera House! Get settled in your reserved seats and before long you’ll be enchanted by the magical performance of the Nutcracker! After the ballet, return back to your hotel overnight!

December 5 – Lexington, Concord | Boston Pops

Enjoy breakfast before departing for a panoramic tour sightseeing tour of Cambridge; home to Harvard University and the historic towns of Lexington and               Concord where you’ll trace the Revolutionary and Literary footsteps of history! Today lunch will be served at the historic Concord’s Colonial Inn. After lunch, you travel back to the hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to relax before the evening festivities. Take a short ride over to Symphony Hall, and enjoy the world-renowned conductor Keith  Lockhart and the Boston Pops from your reserved seats. This spectacular performance is filled with holiday music favorites, the traditional Pops sing-along, and a visit from Santa Claus himself! Started in 1973 by Boston Pops Conductor Arthur Fiedler, these concerts take place in the special atmosphere of world-famous Symphony Hall-specially decorated to evoke all the magic and charm of the season.

December 6 – Newport’s Ten Mile Drive, Marble House & Holiday Evening at the Breakers

After breakfast, you depart for a Grand Christmas in Newport where you’ll enjoy a guided tour along the Ten Mile Drive. Step back in time to the opulent era of the gilded age when elite families such as the Vanderbilts and Astor’s built their “summer cottages” to retreat from city life. You’ll journey along the Ten Mile drive viewing many of these magnificent mansions decorated for the holiday Season! Midday, enjoy some free time along the waterfront for some holiday shopping at the many fine shops, boutiques, and galleries that Newport has to offer. This afternoon, visit the Marble House and enjoy the magnificent holiday decorations as you tour this beautiful mansion. Later you’ll check into our Newport hotel for a two-night stay. Tonight a very special evening is planned for you!  Enjoy an early dinner before we spend a Holiday Evening at the Breakers. Enjoy continuous live holiday music and sample holiday sweets, eggnog, and cider, and stroll through the house at your leisure. Thousands of poinsettia plants, spectacular evergreens, trees and wreaths, fresh flowers, and 19th-century-style ornaments will adorn this summer cottage.

December 7 – The Elms, High Tea, Blithewold Mansion & Santa Claus!

After breakfast this morning you visit the Elms, modeled after the mid-18th century French chateau d’Asnieres outside Paris, this “cottage” is lavishly decorated in all its holiday glory. Mid-day, enjoy High Tea at one of Newport’s Historic and festively decorated landmarks!  This afternoon you visit Blithewold Mansion, a 33-acre summer estate with grand views of Narragansett Bay and nationally significant in American history. Every year Blithewold transforms into a dazzling display celebrating the magic of Christmas. Each room of the Mansion is filled with elaborate holiday decorations and the gardens become a glimmering winter wonderland! This evening gather for a delicious dinner along with a visit from your favorite Jolly Ol’ Elf!

December 8 – Depart for home

This morning after breakfast, you’ll have free time to shop at Newport’s waterfront before transferring to Boston Logan Airport for your flight home. Fond memories of your Christmastime in Boston and Newport will last forever!                           (B)
